Paper Panic: Lost Records, and Delayed Diagnoses

The Kenya healthcare landscape has long struggled with the challenges of managing fragmented and easily misplaced physical copies of medical records. The tiresome nature of handling these records often results in inefficiencies, making the management and sharing of critical health information a substantial task. This not only poses a significant risk of delayed diagnoses due to incomplete medical histories but also adds unnecessary complexity to an already intricate system. Fourbic identified the problem at hand and sought to address it by creating a user-friendly and efficient tool.

Umzima's homepage started bold, but with oversized category cards and clashing icons, it felt overwhelming. We iteratively refined, shrinking cards, harmonizing icons, and adjusting the color palette for a more cohesive look. It also missed engaging content.

The final design prioritized user needs, featuring a prominent appointment card (if present), followed by curated sections for categories, services, and healthcare providers, offering a clear context for app navigation. We even embraced the Pink October campaign, seamlessly integrating banners to showcase Umzima's adaptability and dedication to user well-being.

We responded by crafting a specific section within the app designed to cater to their unique needs and workflow. . This space provides independent doctors with tools and resources tailored to their practice, fostering a sense of community and support within the Umzima ecosystem.
